WWI & WWII Hungary Medal Lot – Pro Deo et Patria 1914–1918 + Southern Hungary Campaign 1941

This listing includes two original Hungarian military medals from the 20th century—one commemorating World War I service and the other honoring participation in the 1941 reclaiming of Southern Hungary (Délvidék) during World War II. Both medals are in good collectible condition and come with their original trifold ribbons.

Medal 1: WWI Commemorative Medal – “Pro Deo et Patria” (1914–1918)

  • Issued post-WWI by the Kingdom of Hungary

  • Obverse: Hungarian crown and arms with crossed swords

  • Reverse: “PRO DEO ET PATRIA” and steel helmet over dates 1914–1918

  • Diameter: 36.96 mm

  • Ribbon: Red/white/green ribbon (shows wear; a safety pin has been attached to the reverse)

Medal 2: WWII Southern Hungary Campaign Medal (1941)

  • Obverse: Mounted warrior Hunyadi János with sword

  • Reverse: Four-part Hungarian coat of arms; issued under Regent Miklós Horthy

  • Legend: “Magyar Délvidék Visszafoglalása Emlékérem” (Commemoration of the Reclaiming of Southern Hungary)

  • Diameter: 35.41 mm

  • Ribbon: Yellow and blue original trifold ribbon, intact with some age

Condition:

Both medals have light to moderate wear and original patina. The WWI ribbon shows discoloration and age-related soiling. Please see all photos for detailed condition.
