USSR "Badge of Honor" Medal – Original Soviet Award with Ribbon
Serial Number: 295807
Dimensions: 49.59 x 32.95 mm

Historical and Cultural Context:

The Badge of Honor (Знак Почёта) was one of the most respected Soviet civilian awards, established in 1935. It was awarded for outstanding achievements in labor, science, culture, literature, manufacturing, and other areas of the socialist economy. It symbolized dedication to the Soviet state and the building of communism. The medal was awarded to both individuals and collectives, including enterprises and institutions.

Medal Design:

The medal features a striking red enamel background with two figures—a male worker and a female farmer—holding flags beneath a raised red star. Above them is the inscription "СССР" (USSR), and below: "Знак Почёта" (Badge of Honor). The reverse bears the mint mark Монетный Двор (Mint) and the serial number 295807, indicating a legitimate and traceable issue.

The ribbon is the original orange and white striped version, typical of early issues, and includes the original mounting hardware with pinback. The ribbon shows signs of age, consistent with authentic period wear.
