Imperial Russia – Order of St. Anne – 2nd Class – 14K Gold – Maker Marked “AK” – c. 1900

A rare and beautiful example of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Anne, 2nd Class (Императорский Орден Святой Анны), crafted in 14K gold and richly decorated with translucent red enamels and hand-painted centerpieces.

Historical Background

The Order of St. Anne was founded on February 14, 1735 by Duke Karl Friedrich of Holstein to honor his wife, Grand Duchess Anna Petrovna of Russia. It became part of the Russian honors system in 1797 under Emperor Paul I. Awarded in four grades, it recognized distinguished military or civil service, as well as acts of valor.

  • Material: Solid 14K gold, translucent red guilloché enamel
