Obverse: White-enamel Maltese cross outlined in green, gilt rays between arms, blue central medallion with golden radiant sun.
Reverse: Blue enamel center with Persian Imperial Crown and wreath, Persian script around.
Suspension: Missing laurel suspension ring originally used for neck ribbon.
Condition:
Missing upper wreath suspension. Enamel losses on arms and slight movement in central medallion. Original gilding mostly intact. Please refer to photos for details.
Historical Background:
Instituted in 1926 by Reza Shah Pahlavi, the Imperial Order of the Crown of Iran replaced the Order of the Lion and the Sun as the main national order of merit.
It was awarded for civil, diplomatic, and military distinction. The Commander Class was worn suspended from a neck ribbon.
Summary:
Authentic Order of the Crown of Iran, Commander Class from the Pahlavi era. Despite missing suspension wreath and minor enamel damage, this remains a rare and desirable example of Iran’s premier state order.
